Jr. Shooting

The Oklahoma American Legion Junior Shooters Program is an air gun shooting program designed as an all season sport because participants do not have to be athletes to excel. Size, speed and strength are not requirements for shooters to succeed. It simply takes concentration, discipline and determination, besides it is just plain fun.

Air gun shooting can be done indoors and outdoors. And it is an inexpensive activity to begin and maintain. Air gun shooting is an equal opportunity sport for men, women, boys, girls and even the handicap can participate. Air gun shooting instills a sense of pride, confidence and achievement.

The American Legion Junior Shooters program teaches proper gun handling, community involvement, youth and adult interaction and generates the opportunity for family fun. The Junior Shooters program is a program that Posts are discovering is an exciting recreational activity to increase membership and community involvement.

The American Legion provides a complete shooting educational kit, and how to start a local Junior Shooters Program in you Post. The program truly offers something for everyone as an activity to enjoy. A chance to compete between other Posts actively participating in the program. It would provide an opportunity to excel in Post membership and provide an excellent youth program in the community. One reward would be bragging rights as top gun shooter Post in the state.
